FULL-TIME POSITIONS

  • Maverick Psychotherapy Group is looking for full- time early childhood & school-aged psychotherapist is a mental health professional who provides treatment to individuals ages 0-12,  families and adults.  A  psychotherapist ensures the delivery of best practice and high-quality mental health care to MPG clients. Responsibilities for this role include initial and ongoing assessments of mental health presentation and developmental trajectory, cultivation and implementation of developmentally appropriate treatment plans and interventions, monitoring treatment prognosis and adjusting treatment strategies as needed, and assessing and addressing mental health risks. Collaborating with clients’ caregivers and other service providers, collaborating with team members, continuous professional development, attending individual and group supervisions, and maintaining up-to-date confidential clinical records are also part of a child psychotherapist’s responsibilities. 


    We are looking for candidates who are passionate about working with children and families and who have a range of experience. We train our clinicians to actualize their potential and seek applicants  who are willing to grow and learn. This position allows for opportunities to work with adults and caregivers, but is primarily a focused caseload of children and families.  We’re seeking someone deeply committed to social justice and equity in mental health, who practices cultural humility, gender- and neuro-affirming care, and is dedicated to continuous learning and growth. 


    This is an in-person position complete with fully furnished play rooms. 


    Responsibilities

    • Maintain a caseload of 1090 sessions annually (or prorated amount) 

    • Conduct initial mental health assessments and develop treatment plans

    • Provide individual and family therapy sessions using a range of therapeutic approaches 

    • Collaborate with clients and their caregivers to develop and implement effective treatment plans aimed at addressing client’s presenting problem

    • Coordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals to support child’s healing and growth processes 

    • Monitor client progress, adjust treatment plans, and provide ongoing psychotherapy

    • Assess and address client mental health risk, crisis and/or emergency

    • Attend weekly individual and group clinical supervision 

    • Attend twice monthly Child/Play Therapy consultation groups 

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date (within 48 hours after session) clinical documentation, including but not limited to: progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries, in compliance with legal and ethical standards


    Opportunities: 

    • Consultation for  treatment planning and implementation, therapeutic interventions for ages 0-12. Opportunities to specialize in ages 0-4 and/or ages 5 and up. 

    • When at a full time caseload, educational benefit for three year Somatic Experiencing training, and a 150 hour self-paced training in Child Centered Play Therapy with neurorelational emphasis

    • Supported opportunities to earn a Registered Play Therapist credential

    Qualifications

    • MSW-LP, LMSW, LCSW, MHC-LP, LMHC, MFT-LP,  or LMFT, licensed in the state of NY

    • Minimum 1-2 years of direct clinical experience in mental health counseling/psychotherapy 

    • Strong observation skills

    • Some experience with directive and/or nondirective play therapy 

    • Personal and professional commitment to social justice and equity practices, an applicable understanding of intersectionality in the clinical space 

    • Cultural humility, gender- and neuro-affirming

    • Strong commitment to learning and participating in further training


    Preference given to clinicians with…

    • Training in trauma processing work

    • Experience and/or training in child development, attachment, and interpersonal neurobiology 

    • Experience with treatment planning and implementation of therapeutic interventions with children ages 0-12

    • Experience working with legal involvement (custody, CPS)

    • Familiarity with collaborating with schools

    • Experience with dyadic therapy, parent-child psychotherapy, and early childhood mental health consultation  

    • Training and/or experience in infant mental health 

    • Comfort and proficiency working with nontraditional family structures

    Compensation: $55,000- $60,000 base salary per year commensurate with experience (after a part-time period to build a full-time clinical caseload and eligible for additional compensation of $5,000-$14,000+ dependent on number of annual sessions)

  • Maverick Psychotherapy Group is looking for a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for a Clinical Supervisor position to help lead and support our team of mental health professionals (MSW-LP, LMSW, LCSW, MHC-LP, LMHC, MFT-LP,  and/or LMFT). In this role, you’ll provide individual and group supervision to 8-10 clinicians, and help manage client risks and crises. You’ll play a key role in ensuring high-quality care while collaborating with leadership and fostering a strong, supportive, psychodynamically and somatically oriented team. We’re seeking someone deeply committed to social justice and equity in mental health, who practices cultural humility, gender- and neuro-affirming care, and is dedicated to continuous learning and growth. 

    Key Responsibilities:

    Supervisory Responsibilities 

    • Provide weekly individual clinical supervision for 8-10 clinicians

    • Lead weekly group supervision sessions for clinical staff

    • Assess and support clinicians in managing client risk, crises, and emergencies

    • Maintain accurate supervision notes and other required documentation

    • Participate in weekly individual supervision for your personal caseload and regular supervisor supervision meetings for ongoing support and professional development

    • Assist in interviewing and evaluating potential hires as assigned by leadership

    Clinical Responsibilities

    • 2-5 years of supervisory experience and training and/or mentorship of less experienced clinicians (e.g. interns or newly licensed clinicians)

  • Administrative Coordinator 

    Maverick Psychotherapy Group (MPG) is seeking an Administrative Coordinator who plays a pivotal role in supporting the practice’s operational functions. This position is responsible for maintaining effective internal and external communication, coordinating hiring and onboarding processes, supporting clinicians with various administrative needs, and collaborating with the leadership team to ensure efficient practice management. A collaborative approach is essential in this position to foster open communication and teamwork with Admin team, leadership, clinical team, and clients. This position is virtual with the option to use office facilities.  Also, this position provides flexibility in scheduling while maintaining a commitment to meeting deadlines and key responsibilities.  

    We are looking for a candidate who is proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail, high degree of accuracy, and confidentiality, works well individually and collaboratively as part of a team, thinks critically and creatively, communicates openly and effectively, and who can adapt to fluid organization needs.


    Key Responsibilities:

    Coordinating for Leadership: 

    • Prepare meeting agendas, document key discussion points, and manage follow-up on assigned action items for Managing Director 

    • Monitor and manage leadership team’s action items, providing timely updates and prognosis

    • Assist the Managing Director with the organizational aspects of task, project and calendar management

    Scheduling & Communication

    • Manage the practice-wide calendar for all meetings and events

    • Coordinate scheduling for internal team meetings 

    • Monitor fax application and distribute incoming documents accordingly

    • Edit and send out the practice’s weekly newsletter



    Hiring & Onboarding

    • Manage job outreach and inquiries

    • Track and manage process data and reference checks

    • Schedule and coordinate interviews 

    • Support hiring process for Clinical Trainees (CT)

    • Facilitate Admin Orientation, including website updates for new hires 

    Team Collaboration 

    • Collaborate closely with the admin to divide and  complete operational tasks

    • Assist with editing and formatting  internal process manuals 

    Additional responsibilities

    • Provide coverage for other Admin team members as needed and appropriate

    Qualifications:

  • Clinical Coordinator

    Job Description: 

    The referrals coordinator serves as a critical liaison between prospective clients, current clients, psychotherapists, and administrative staff to ensure smooth referral and onboarding processes and on-going clinical care. This role involves managing incoming client inquiries, assessing clinical and insurance needs, maintaining awareness of present psychotherapist specialties and referral needs, coordinating referrals internally and externally, and supporting onboarding/offboarding transitions.  A collaborative approach is essential in this position to foster open communication and teamwork with the Admin, Clinical and Leadership Teams.


    Key Responsibilities:

    Referral and clinical administrative management

    • Monitor and respond to referrals and client inquiries received via phone and email

    • Conduct outreach to client referrals  to obtain essential referral information, including:

      • Reasons for referral (may include a potential clinical history & current needs)

      • Insurance details

      • General availability and session format preferences

    • Track and manage all referral data, assignments, and waitlist information

    • Maintain accurate records of referral/client information, assignment status, and referral outcomes on the Masterlist spreadsheet

    • Communicate psychotherapist insurance panels, limits, and out-of-network availability to referrals and psychotherapists 

    • Refer clients to internal psychotherapists or external providers (when necessary)

      • Track information about psychotherapists (e.g. credentials, licensures, experience, specializations, etc) to best match referrals 

    • Track and coordinate with the billing team to verify insurance coverage and match clients with appropriate providers

    • Manage Group therapy referral processes

    • Manage the client onboarding process

      • Send client welcome emails 

      • Process all incoming intake documents from clients EXCEPT Informed consent

      • Monitor and ensure completion of client intake documentation, and support clients with intake documentation process as needed

    • Coordinate Release of Information (ROI) forms and request, including various client consent forms processes

    Team Collaboration & Support 

    • Coordinate with psychotherapists and the billing team to ensure alignment in referral processes

    • Assist psychotherapists with:

      • General inquiries about the referral process 

      • Coordinating communication and other administrative tasks between referrals  and psychotherapists  

      • Creating client EHR charts 

      • Adding psychotherapists to the client’s EHR chart 

      • Inquiries about insurance for psychotherapists/clients and client onboarding

      • Internal clinical processes 

    • Oversee and provide guidance to the referrals team on outreach procedures and managing waitlisted referrals (as appropriate)

    • Collaborate with leadership to improve referral workflows and client-matching accuracy

    • Attend weekly administrative team meetings

    • Attend bi-weekly supervision with Director of Operations to review and refine the referral system and workflows

    Onboarding & Offboarding

    • Support new hire onboarding process:

      • Facilitate Admin Orientation for new hires to introduce referral procedures and systems

    • Support client transfers and offboarding psychotherapists:

      • Engage in referral-related tasks

        • Supporting the identification of insurance information for clients

        • Psychotherapist openings and specializations

        • Psychotherapist insurance credentials 

      • Meet 2–3 times with offboarding psychotherapists to manage transitions and continuity of care


    Additional responsibilities:

    • Provide coverage for other Admin team members as needed and appropriate

    • Other duties determined by the Leadership Team

    Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required, (Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred)

    • Experience in administrative coordination, healthcare, or mental health settings strongly preferred

    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a client-centered approach

    • High degree of organization and ability to track multiple referrals and timelines simultaneously

    • Proficiency with Google Workspace (e.g., Docs, Sheets, Excel) and client management systems (e.g., TherapyNotes or similar platforms).

    • Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and empathy in client communications

    • Knowledge of mental health terminology, psychotherapist specializations, and insurance processes (PPOs, in-network, out-of-network) preferred 

    • Comfortable handling confidential information with professionalism and discretion

    • Experience with or interest in mental health, clinical practices, or healthcare systems is a plus
