KETAMINE ASSISTED THERAPY
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is an emerging, evidence-informed treatment that can open access to deeper layers of self-understanding, resilience, and relief, particularly for people navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, and other conditions that have been resistant to conventional treatment.
Our KAP program integrates ketamine’s therapeutic effects with somatic modalities including Somatic Experiencing™, grounded in a foundation of trust, safety, and relational attunement. We offer individual and group KAP, and collaborate with each client’s existing providers whenever possible to ensure continuity of care.
OUR APPROACH
Every KAP experience at MPG is structured around three phases: preparation, dosing, and integration. Preparation sessions build the internal resources and relational safety needed for effective ketamine-assisted work. Integration sessions help consolidate insights and translate them into lasting change.
TWO DOSING OPTIONS
Psychedelic Dosing
At higher doses, ketamine can facilitate expanded, non-ordinary states of consciousness that many clients find profoundly transformative. Three-hour dosing sessions are conducted in-office with a trained KAP clinician present throughout, making it well-suited for individuals seeking deeper therapeutic work on depression, anxiety, PTSD, and treatment-resistant conditions.
Psycholytic Dosing
Psycholytic KAP uses lower doses of ketamine to enhance the therapy process itself. Psycholytic doses can gently soften habitual patterns of consciousness, making it easier to access emotions, memories, and insights that are difficult to reach through talk therapy alone. Clients have the option to remain conversational throughout the session, working directly with their therapist as material arises.
Psycholytic dosing can serve several clinical purposes.
For those who prefer a more gentle and gradual start, this approach is an ideal place to begin. It can also serve as a foundation for transitioning to higher-dose work over time, depending on the patient's needs.
Additionally, this work can be a very effective standalone treatment and is often the best clinical fit for many individuals.

TESTIMONIAL
Before I began KAP therapy sessions at Maverick, I was “locked up,” convinced that I was essentially incapable of growth, that my troubles all came from outside myself and that I had no agency in the matter. Claudia Gahagan’s insight, patience, and empathy have completely “opened me up.” No longer do I sit around and complain about the unfairness of life or the enmity of outside forces acting on me. It isn’t what I’ve “learned” so much as what I’ve unlearned, what I’ve realized I can let go of that has set me free. I’m no longer carrying around all my petty grievances and grudges, and for perhaps the first time in my life I can say, without a trace of sarcasm, that I am genuinely happy. ~ AF
