OUR TEAM
Avi Burnbaum, LMSW
Avi (he/him) takes a collaborative, compassionate, relational approach to therapy. He believes deeply in each person’s innate capacity for healing and growth, and works to create a grounded, nonjudgmental space where clients can feel safe to explore, process, and reconnect with themselves. His goal is to help people develop greater self-understanding while moving toward lives that feel more aligned, meaningful, and sustainable.
Avi’s work is strengths-based and integrative, blending mindfulness with somatic therapy concepts to support a deeper connection between mind and body. His approach is informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Psychoanalysis. He also offers psychedelic integration support for those looking to thoughtfully process and make meaning of experiences with non-ordinary states of consciousness.
Avi has experience supporting clients with a variety of different backgrounds and situations including: post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, religious trauma, substance use, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, chronic illness, and injury recovery. He also enjoys helping people navigate life adjustments as well as major life transitions such as retirement, career changes, and changes in family dynamics.
