Sherry F. Adams, LMHC, SEP, Senior Advisor of Business Strategy
Sherry F. Adams (she/her) is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), who provides a secure and inclusive environment for adults to explore who they have been, who they are, and who they want to be.
She works with her clients’ intersecting abilities, socioeconomic, racial, ethnic, spiritual and cultural backgrounds to facilitate growth, direction, and purpose.
Prior to her work in mental health, Sherry spent 15 years in the corporate sector, her transition into psychotherapy has been written about in Oprah Daily. Today, she consciously engages her business acumen to support Maverick Psychotherapy’s sustainable growth initiatives as the Senior Advisor of Business Strategy.
In both her advisory and therapeutic work, Sherry often incorporates her roots in art. Sherry believes creativity is key to promoting diversity of thought.
Sherry holds a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University and a BFA in painting from UNC Greensboro. Sherry has completed the OCDCC Program, earning the Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Counseling Certificate (OCDCC) and the Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner (SEP) program, a body-oriented therapy designed to resolve trauma and chronic stress.
